Membership Benefits of Bowls
CLUB HISTORY London Road Foundry Bowling Club takes its name from “Millers Foundry iron works, which stood on London Road. The Green in Farrer Terrace was opened in 1953 and was originally intended for use by the foundry workers and their families. Now it is a fully private club, owned and managed by its members. Located in the Portobello/Craigentinnny/ area LRFBC has always prided itself in being first and foremost a family Club and is understandably proud of its history and roots. Members who themselves arrived at the club as children now arrive with their own children and indeed grandchildren. We are humbly proud that members who joined the club as youngsters have gone on to represent their country at national level. London Road Foundry Bowling Club warmly welcomes new members, of any age and guests, with the same open hand of friendship, fair play and companionship as our forebears and founding members did before us.
